Penn State has lost another highly rated recruit from the Class of 2012 on the defensive line, at least for now.

Tackle Jamil Pollard, from West Deptford, N.J., has decommitted and re-opened his recruiting. He originally committed to the Nittany Lions in April.

His decision follows that of five-star defensive lineman Jarron Jones, from Aquinas Institute in Rochester, N.Y. Jones, ranked No. 2 in the country by Rivals.com at his position, decommited earlier this month. He is considering Notre Dame, North Carolina and Virginia Tech, along with Penn State.

"I committed too early instead of taking the option of looking at other schools," Pollard told Rivals.com. "Not that I don't like Penn State, I just want to see what else is out there and what other schools have to offer . . .

"The coaches there are really great. Coach [Larry] Johnson, their D-line coach, is really good. All the coaches are really nice and they're academics are really good. I just want to see what else is out there."

Pollard, 6-5, 280, is ranked as the 15th-best defensive tackle in the country by Rivals.com. He said he does not have a favorite, although he had more than 10 offers when he committed to Penn State.
