Penn State's Troutman cited for DUI

For someone majoring in Penn State's crime, law and justice program, maybe Johnnie Troutman should have known better. The 6-4, 323-pound guard, who will be a fifth-year senior for the Nittany Lions in the 2011 season, reportedly was charged with multiple offenses during a traffic stop Saturday in State College.

The 6-4, 323-pound guard, who will be a fifth-year senior for the Nittany Lions in the 2011 season, reportedly was charged with multiple offenses during a traffic stop Saturday in State College.

According to the website FightOnState.com, which said it obtained a police report, the Browns Mills, N.J., resident, was cited for DUI, DUI with a high rate of blood alcohol (between .10 and .16), failure to obey a traffic device and driving without a license.

A preliminary hearing was set for March 9, the website said.

Troutman, 23, who has 18 career starts and started 11 of Penn State's 13 games last season, was in coach Joe Paterno's doghouse before, mostly for being overweight and ill-conditioned.

In August 2006, before he enrolled at Penn State, State College cops charged him with criminal mischief. He pleaded guilty and paid a fine and restitution. *
