Mini schedule: Today: college men's decathlon, college women's hepthatlon. Tomorrow: high schools girls and college women's events and distance races. Friday: high schools boys and girls events, college men and women and Olympic Development. Saturday: colllege men and women events, high schools boys and girls events and USA vs. the World.

Start times: Today, 10 a.m. Tomorrow, 10; Friday, 9; Saturday, 7.

Limited parking: Garage 37 (34th and Chestnut), Penn Park (31st and Chestnut) and Garage 30 (38th and Walnut)

Public transportation: Recommended

Throwing fields: To get there, walk on to the South Street Bridge on the south side. Go down the steps adjacent to the Hollenback Center (the big red brick building), then turn right and walk toward the fields. Some of the old throwing fields aren't in use this year due to construction. Relays officials will have more detailed directions.

Pioneers shot putter; Chris Mason, 1971 Villanova and 1972 New York Athletic Club distance runner; Ergas Leps, 1962 Michigan distance runner; 1930 Penn freshman team of Howard Jones, Jimmy Healey, Jack Edwards and Bill Carr, record of 3:19.2 stood for 10 years; 1958 Villanova mile realy team of George Sydnor, Charley Stead, Ron Delany and Ed Collymore, record of 3:11.8 stood until 1967; 2001 South Lakes High School (Reston, Va.) distance medley team of Richard Smith, Justin Smyser, Kanda Kamo and Alan Webb, record of 9:59.66 still stands; Tennessee women's sprint medley team of Tianna Madison, Toyin Olupona, DeeDee Trotter and Kameisha Bennett, 2004 record of 3:41.78 still stands.

Yesterday's action: After the first day of competition, Marcos Sanchez of Turabo (Puerto Rico), 3,977 points, and Kelly Curtis of Springfield (Mass.) College, 2,920 points, lead the college men's decathlon and college women's heptathlon, respectively. Today's events: decathlon, 110-meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin, 1,500 meters; heptathlon, long jump, javelin, 800 meters.
