Penn's Priore named Ivy Coach of the Year

Four Quakers also honored; Colonial honors five Villanova players

FIRST-YEAR PENN coach Ray Priore, whose team finished in a three-way tie for the Ivy title with Harvard and Dartmouth after being picked to finish sixth, was named the league's Coach of the Year. The Quakers (7-3, 6-1 Ivy) won five more games than last season.

Four players made first-team all-Ivy. Two were unanimous selections: senior linebacker Tyler Drake and sophomore wide receiver Justin Watson. They were joined by junior quarterback Alek Torgersen and senior offensive lineman Tanner Thexton.

In the Colonial, three from Villanova made first team: senior running back Gary Underwood, senior linebacker Don Cherry and junior defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon. Quarterback Zach Bednarczyk shared Rookie of the Year with Delaware running back Thomas Jefferson. And junior offensive lineman Jake Prus, who missed two games after he donated his bone marrow to save a stranger's life, won the Chuck Boone Leadership Award.
