Penn women cruise past Dartmouth
ALYSSA BARON scored 20 points and the Penn women's basketball team picked up its first Ivy League win of the season, beating visiting Dartmouth, 71-53, last night. The senior guard also had eight rebounds.
The Quakers also got 12 points and 12 rebounds from freshman center Sydney Stipanovich, making her third straight start, and 14 points from junior guard Kathleen Roche.
The Quakers (11-5, 1-1 Ivy) led by as much as 25 points midway through the second half, and though the Big Green pulled to within 15 later in the half, Penn never was really threatened.
Dartmouth (3-14, 0-3) was led by Nikola Zimmer and Lakin Roland, who scored 10 points each. Roland added seven assists.
The Quakers are back in action tonight, when they host Harvard at 7 o'clock.
