The men (8-6) head to fourth-seeded Notre Dame on Saturday, with the game televised on ESPNU at 2:30 p.m. The Irish (10-2) lost last year's Division I championship game to Duke. It's Penn's first postseason berth since 2006.
Penn's women (11-5), after being upset by eventual champion Princeton in the Ivy League tournament on Saturday, will play at No. 5 Duke (13-4) on Sunday. Despite the lower seeding, Penn scored a 13-10 victory over the Blue Devils in a game played at Drexel 2 weeks ago.
The Quaker women will be making their fifth straight tournament appearance, reaching the championship game in 2008 before losing to Northwestern.
Villanova's (11-4) and Delaware's (12-6) men also are in the Division I field. The Wildcats travel to Denver (13-2) for a first-round game next Sunday, while the Blue Hens play at defending champ Duke (12-5) Saturday.
Other area teams in tournaments include the men's teams of Cabrini (12-5) and Widener (15-2), which face each other in a Division III game at Cabrini on Wednesday. Cabrini is playing in its 11th consecutive NCAA tournament.
In a women's Divsion II game, West Chester (15-4) plays at Lock Haven (16-2) Saturday, while Gwynedd-Mercy (11-7) and Rowan (10-6) are in the Division III field. On Wednesday, Gwynedd plays at College of New Jersey (17-0), while Rowan is at Salisbury (Md.) (16-2).
