Explorers release non-conference schedule


La Salle’s men’s basketball team will open its season against Delaware on Nov. 10 at Tom Gola Arena.

La Salle’s first-ever basketball opponent was against Delaware on Dec. 12, 1931.

The Explorers, coming off a 21-win season and an NIT appearance, also will begin a series with Penn State. The Nittany Lions will play La Salle at the Palestra on Dec. 5.

Villanova will visit Gola Arena on Nov. 25. On Nov. 18, La Salle will host Central Connecticut State and on Nov. 20, will visit Hartford. La Salle will visit Rider on Nov. 29, and will play road games at Northeastern (Dec. 8) and Bucknell (Dec. 15) and Siena (Dec. 29). Nonconference home games in December include Iona (Dec. 20) and Sacred Heart (Dec. 22).

On Jan. 2, La Salle will visit Miami and will host Penn on Jan. 5 at Gola Arena.

In Atlantic 10 play, La Salle will have a home and home series with George Washington and will host Butler, Dayton, Duquesne, Fordham, Massachusetts, Richmond and Saint Joseph’s.

La Salle will play road A-10 games against Charlotte, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis, Temple, VCU and Xavier.
