College Basketball: Penn Women beat St. Joseph's
For just the second time in school history, the Penn women's basketball team beat St. Joseph's. A dominant second half led to a 65-51 victory over the Hawks at the Palestra on Tuesday night.

The Quakers (4-3, 2-0 Big Five) are the only unbeaten team in the Big Five and need just one win in their two remaining Big Five games (vs. Temple Jan. 5 and Villanova Jan. 21) to claim their first title.
Center Sydney Stipanovich led Penn with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ashley Robinson (Archbishop Wood) scored 12 for the Hawks (3-6, 2-1 Big Five).
Men
Wichita State 77, Seton Hall 68 - Ron Baker scored 22 points, and the No. 11 Shockers handed the visiting Pirates their first loss of the season. Darius Carter had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Shockers (6-1), who used a big first-half run to seize control. Isaiah Whitehead scored 23 points for the Pirates (7-1). Wichita State has won 22 consecutive home games dating to the 2012-13 season.
Notre Dame 93, Mount St. Mary's 67 - In South Bend, Ind., Steve Vasturia scored a career-high 19 points to lead the No. 25 Fighting Irish (9-1) over the 2-5 Mountaineers. Vasturia was perfect on the night, hitting 7 of 7 from the floor, including three three-pointers.
Iowa State 73, Missouri-Kansas City 56 - Bryce Dejean-Jones scored 22 points and the No. 14 Cyclones beat the Kangaroos (3-7). Dejean-Jones topped 20 points for the third time for the Cyclones (6-1).
Overton out. Former St. Joseph's Prep star Miles Overton announced he is transferring from Wake Forest. The Sophomore guard had played in seven of the Demon Deacons' nine games this season, averaging 5.1 points off of the bench. "Miles came to me today and requested his release," first-year Demon Deacons coach Danny Manning said. "We wish him well at the next stop in his basketball career."
