When a team is on a roll, the thing to do is to keep the run going, which is what Drexel was trying to do.

The last time Drexel had won as many as four games in a row was during the 2014-15 season. So the Dragons were already working on a mini-milestone.

During the streak Drexel had already surpassed the win total in coach Zach Spiker's first season on Chestnut Street and defeated Northeastern and William & Mary — two of the top teams in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Still some streaks can be stronger than others.

Towson senior guard Mike Morsell scored eight of his 31 points in overtime as the Tigers posted their sixth straight victory over Drexel with a 94-92 Colonial Athletic Association win in overtime on Thursday at the Daskalakis Center.

Leading by 17 with just over 11 minutes remaining, Drexel (11-15, 5-8) could not hold on as Neummann-Goretti graduate Zane Martin led Towson (17-9, 7-6) on a hectic run down the stretch.

With time running down in regulation, Morsell followed up a miss by Martin, who scored 25, and got fouled. He completed the three-point-play to send the game to overtime at 83-83.

Drexel took an 86-85 lead on a three-pointer by Tramaine Isabell, who scored a game-high 32.

The Dragons pushed the advantage to 89-85 with 2 ½ minutes remaining, but then Morsell drained back-to-back three-pointers.

He then made a jumper with 32 second left to put the Tigers up 94-91.

Isabell made a free throw and then after a Towson turnover had a chance to tie the score but his shot at the buzzer went astray.

This game was Drexel's for the taking.

With the score 39-39 thirty seconds in the second half, Drexel went on 22-6 run paced by Alihan Demir, who had 11 of his 18 points during the 6-minute span.

That's when Martin heated up for the Tigers by scoring 13 in final nine minutes of regulation.

Isabell scored at least 20 for the fifth time in the last six games while  Kurk Lee had 20 points for the Dragons
