Temple baseball falls to UCF in tourney

The Owls dropped to 0-2 in pool play in the American Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Temple Owls lost their second game in the American Athletic Conference Tournament, 6-2, yesterday to No. 2 seed UCF, at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

The Owls dropped to 0-2 in pool play while UCF improved to 2-0.

Starting pitcher Patrick Vanderslice lasted five innings, allowing seven hits, no walks and three strikeouts.

Temple got on the board in the seventh inning when Jimmy Kerrigan tripled and Daniel Dragos knocked him in on a ground out. Kerrigan led the Owls with two hits and a walk.

The Owls will conclude pool play against UConn tomorrow at 11 a.m.
