More from Penn State's 14-10 win over Temple

As was the case in the first two games, sophomore Rob Bolden and junior Matt McGloin split time at quarterback for the Nittany Lions. Bolden, who started and finished the game, went 9-for-17 for 92 yards and threw an interception. McGloin went 13-for-19 for 124 yards.

It appears coach Joe Paterno plans to continue to use both signal callers. Penn State plays Eastern Michigan next Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

"That's one of the toughest dilemmas as a coach," Paterno said. "Both of those kids, Matt McGloin and Rob Bolden, are great and both really want to play. They practice well."

Some other notes from Saturday's game at Lincoln Financial Field:

-Paterno coached from the press box for the third straight game. He did, however, stand on the sideline during pre-game warm-ups without the aid of a cane.

-Penn State improved to 37-3-1 against Temple. The last time the Owls beat the Nittany Lions was in 1941. They will play again next September at Beaver Stadium.

-The Nittany Lions' special teams continued to struggle. Evan Lewis missed field goals from 45 and 36 yards out and Sam Ficken had a 49-yard field goal blocked. Temple also blocked an Anthony Fera punt in the third quarter.

-Running back Silas Redd battled cramps during the game. Brandon Beachum saw most of the action at tailback in the fourth quarter. Right tackle Chima Okoli, who rolled his ankle against Alabama, was in and out of the game.

-Derek Moye caught a career-high seven passes for 112 yards. His stats could have been even better, too, as a long touchdown catch and run was called back after a holding call. He is now sixth all-time at Penn State in receptions at Penn State with 118 and seventh in receiving yards with 1,961.

-Fullback Michael Zordich scored the game-winning touchdown, a one-yard carry. He did so in the same stadium his father coaches. The elder Michael Zordich is the Eagles safeties coach.

-Wide receiver Bill Belton (Sicklerville, N.J.) became the fourth true freshmen to play for Penn State this year, joining kicker Sam Ficken, wide receiver Allen Robinson and cornerback Adrian Amos.

-Wide receiver and former West Catholic High School star Curtis Drake did not travel with the team. He is not 100 percent after re-injuring his leg in the spring. He played last Saturday against Alabama, but Paterno said on Thursday that Drake was still sore. Drake's status for the rest of the season is uncertain.

-Running back Stephfon Green also did not travel with the team.
