Josh Brown picks Temple, again
Keith Pompey, Inquirer Staff Writer
St. Anthony’s point guard Josh Brown recommitment to play basketball at Temple on Monday.
The 6-foot-3 senior first committed to the Owls back in November. He backed out the commitment after his stock soared following his junior season. This time, Brown picked Temple over Rhode Island, Providence and Penn State. Brown said he chose Temple partly because his late mother, Kimberly, was a Temple graduate.
He has second thoughts in June after his recruiting interest increased. He was contacted by Rhode Island, Providence, Penn State, Gonzaga, Virginia, Richmond, Miami, Rutgers and Indiana.
There was some thought that he would commit to Rhode Island because of his ties to the Hurley family. Dan Hurley, who was hired as the Rams’ new coach in March, is the son of St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley.
But Brown told SNY that competing in the Big East Conference factored into his decision.
The Owls will join the Big East for all sports in 2013-14. Rhode Island is a member of the Atlantic Ten.
Camden Catholic shooting guard Kyle Green also has committed to Temple for 2013.

This kid has huge upside and should thrive at Temple. Period
He could have went to Villanova and been coached by the one of the most overrated coaches (the empty suit) but instead he will go to Temple and be coached by one of the most underrated coaches. The One Who Knows
Way to go Dunph!!
Sounds like we landed a top recruit.
