Harper shines in Cherry & White

While competing for the Cherry squad, the sophomore scored on a 1-yard touchdown to give his team a 17-3 cushion in the second quarter.  Then in the third quarter, the 6-foot, 220-pounder had a 1-yard score for the White squad to close the cap to seven points.

Harper rushed for a game-high 48 yards on eight carries. Jalen Fitzpatrick had 40 yards on five carries, while Matt Brown had 39 yards on seven rushes.

Temple quarterback Chris Coyer completed just six of 16 passes for 116 yards to go with a 43-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Alderman.

Redshirt freshman middle linebacker Nate D. Smith finished with a game-high 12 tackles. Sophomore defensive back Brian Burns intercepted a pass.

Senior placekicker Brandon McManus kicked field goals of 53 and 34 yards.
