A few weeks ago, some person committed the sub-human act of stealing from a Girl Scout Troop. Scouts from Troop 4305 were selling cookies at a Chester County supermarket when a man snagged $20 off the table. On a mission to become the most despicable supermarket customer in history, he also stole from a donation box for U.S. troops.

"The act speaks for itself," police said.

The story resonated with Fatima "TNT" Maddox of the Harlem Globetrotters, who is in the area for performances at the Wells Fargo Center and Liacouras Center from March 8-10.

Maddox, a Temple alumuna and ninth-ever female Globetrotter who was inducted into the Girl Scouts in February, is donating 50 tickets to the scouts to attend Saturday's game at 1 p.m., as well as delivering a speech on bullying.

  • Maddox played three years at Temple, becoming a star and inspiration to young female athletes when she joined the Globetrotters in 2011. Her actions are no surprise to those in the area.

"TNT still calls Philadelphia home," the press release reads.

But in some cases, the act speaks for itself.
