NEWPORT, R.I. -- Camden Catholic shooting guard Kyle Green gave an oral commitment Tuesday to play basketball at Temple.
The 6-foot-5 rising senior chose the Owls over scholarship offers from Albany, Quinnipiac, Florida Atlantic and Colgate.
Temple coach Fran Dunphy "was the first guy to recruit me," Green said of picking the Owls. "He offered me at the end of my sophomore year.
"Every school I went to, I always compared them back to Dunphy and Temple. And I just thought Temple was the best fit for me."
Green averaged 22 points in route to being a second-team all-South Jersey selection by The Inquirer last season. He garnered third-team honors as a sophomore.
Mentioned: Camden Catholic High School

welcome kyle keep improving and GO OWLS!!! malco49
Can Dunphy please land an impact recruit? And what's the latest with Wyatt? dcarbo
Agree with dcarbo. It is distressing that Dunph is not hauling in higher tier recruits. Not sure how big of a deal it is that we beat out some mid majors for this kid. I'm hoping the newly constructed basketball facility draws some bigger fish. hueyfutch
