Three staffers promoted in Penn State athletic department

Penn State has promoted three staffers to assistant athletic director positions, athletic director Sandy Barbour announced Monday.

Herb Combs was named assistant athletic director for outdoor athletic facilities. Ken Cutler was named assistant athletic director for major gifts, and Nikki Potoczny was named assistant athletic director for the annual fund.

In his former position as athletic fields supervisor, Combs, a Penn State alumnus, led a team that maintained the university's 200 acres of fields.

Cutler was previously the university's director of development for major gifts.

Potoczny had served as director of the Nittany Lion Club, the university's athletics booster club.
