Owls, Eagles extend Linc agreement

Temple to play at Lincoln Financial Field at least through the 2019 season.

SOMEDAY, Temple may have an on-campus football stadium.

But in the immediate future, the Owls will continue to play their home games at Lincoln Financial Field.

Temple and the Eagles have signed an amendment to their agreement that provides the university consecutive one-year options in 2018 and 2019, according to a Temple spokesperson.

The current agreement was set to expire in 2017.

Temple has expressed interest in building an on-campus facility, something it has never had.

The Owls played at Temple Stadium in West Oak Lane from 1928 to 1975. They used Veterans Stadium from 1976 to 2002, and have called the Linc home since it opened in August 2003.
