CHARLESTON, S.C. - Damion Lee scored 24 of his 28 points in the second half as Drexel overcame a 14-point deficit to defeat Cornell, 61-59, at the Charleston Classic on Sunday.

"We kept battling after a tough start. We got some easy baskets as we were able to [get 10 turnovers] in the second half," said Drexel coach Bruiser Flint.

Lee and the Dragons (1-4) shot just 18.2 percent in the opening half and trailed, 36-22, with 17 minutes to go. But Drexel followed with a 19-5 run over the next nine minutes to tie the game. After the Big Red rebuilt its lead to 49-43, the Dragons answered with a 14-3 run to take the lead for good.

Cornell (2-4) drew within 60-59 on Shonn Miller's three-pointer with 1.6 seconds left, but Drexel forward Mohamed Bah made a foul shot and purposely missed the second to run out the clock.

Miller had 13 points to lead the Big Red, which ended 0-3 in the eight-team tournament.

Lee was Drexel's only double-figure scorer. He also added seven rebounds and three assists.

"It was good to battle through adversity and come up with the win," Lee said. "We played better on the defensive end, handled their press, and executed when we needed to."

Rodney Williams had a career-high-tying 14 rebounds.
