Last month, on a rainy Tuesday afternoon just before Christmas, Dajuan Wagner strolled into a Cherry Hill gym. It was only a minute or two before tip-off of a game between Camden High and Cherry Hill East, and he sat close to the door, at the very end of the first row of bleachers, shaking a hand or two and nodding back at some folks who recognized him - the greatest high school player New Jersey's ever seen.

Nice story! Good luck to him! NickEeee
@Bkg126, please enlighten us on these bad choices??? And what do they have to do with his injuries that ended his career. If anything, it was almost wise for him, to have done it his way and make that money early. 3 more years of college, and his body breaks down prior to draft day... by-by millions.
Laphroaig was the kid that nobody wanted to play on their team, and was lucky to even be the last guy picked. SeeingCrimeOfAllColors

Very well written. Nice work Jason. TheDude
I always liked Dajuan and hoped for the best for him. I never could understand why his father Milt let him live in Camden with a drug dealing stepfather. Especially if they were so close as to both get jobs at Memphis. towman
laphroaig, You fail to hold his coaches responsible. He was a 17 yr old kid at that time. Who do you expect to set the example, the kid or the adult? Obviously, you do not like him so you blame the kid. The adults that day were reprehensible to allow the 100 points to be scored. Since it has been more than ten years, perhaps you can let it go. Brilliant writing. Well done. deentz
Nice story, and nice job, Jason. Is this really the PDN? I wish Dajuan the best, and look forward to follow-up stories.
Speaking of "whatever happened to", whatever happened to Clarence Tillman, who grew up and played in the shadow of Gene Banks? chuckie621
TeamtoRepeat you don't know what heppen to his money as far as I'm concern he probabaly could still have money if you read the article he
never tried to live beyond his means, maybe being so good and people
are giving you things peoples start to think he's just like any kid from the city, remember he's a shy guy. douglasrdd
Colitis is a devastating and miserable chronic illness. For those that suffer from it, maintaining weight, keeping stamina and getting proper nutrition are daily struggles. And the pain can be tremendous. Wishing him peace and health. holmesburgexpat
Hey lapfrog, the kids scored 100 points in a game because he could. Additionally, why are you on this site? If your a Saints fan why don't you go there? Is it because your mad at the world for being a loser and you can sit behind a keyboard and think your funny? You're a loser dude. Everyone on here knows it. Everyone in your life knows it. So you latch onto the Saints because they won a Super Bowl but guess what? Each and every day..........you're still a loser! oharabri

wow, i had forgotten about him. still so young. if my memory isnt faulty, i remember a much hyped matchup between camden and roman, wagner and Eddie Griffin. Hey, at least Wagner is still breathing, and still has plenty of opportunities to make something of his life, whether its playing basketball or doing something else. jim715
