Michel'Le Daughtry, a student-manager for the Temple football team, died Tuesday after battling leukemia.

She was 21. "Misha" was a junior psychology major from Newark, N.J.

She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in July 2008. In the spring of 2009, she was told she was cancer-free. That September, however, the cancer returned and she underwent a bone marrow transplant.

"Misha was the most courageous person I've ever known," said Paul Kelley, the Owls' athletic equipment supervisor. "She was passionate, loyal and such a pleasure to be around. Her smiling face brightened anyone's day. That is what I will remember about her always."

Misha is survived by her mother, Yonne Daughtry; her aunt and uncle, Daraina and Al-Quaddir Vines; three younger sisters, Eva, Kayla, and Jahida Daughtry; cousins Ahmad and Amaya Vines; and Temple roommates and best friends Megan Kita, Jordan Joseph, Courtney Riches, Jade Shaffer, and Chantaya King.

An open house celebrating Misha's life will be hosted for her family and friends at 2 p.m. Sunday at Temple's Edberg-Olson Hall. All members of the Temple community are invited to attend. *
