Camden's Davis, Winslow's Mahan pick ODU

Old Dominion's football program continues to recruit well locally after two South Jersey players made oral commitments to the school on Sunday.

Eddie Davis, an Inquirer first-team all-South Jersey defensive back from Camden, and Rob Mahan, a linebacker/defensive back from Winslow Township, both said they will sign letters of intent on Wednesday.

"The school had everything I wanted, and I really liked the campus," said Davis, who was recruited as a defensive back after recording 11 interceptions as a senior.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Mahan said he also visited Stony Brook and New Hampshire. He could play either linebacker or safety.

"I'm really impressed with the school," Mahan said.

Earlier, Paul VI's all-South Jersey receiver Jakwail Bailey committed to Old Dominion.
