Reynolds chosen Big 5 Player of Year

Scottie Reynolds has been named the Big 5 Outstanding Player of the Year by the Herb Good Basketball Club. Reynolds, who completed his senior year at Villanova, will receive the Robert V. Geasey Trophy at the club's 65th annual banquet next Monday.

Scottie Reynolds has been named the Big 5 Outstanding Player of the Year by the Herb Good Basketball Club.

Reynolds, who completed his senior year at Villanova, will receive the Robert V. Geasey Trophy at the club's 65th annual banquet next Monday.

Reynolds was joined on the All-Big 5 team by Villanova's Corey Fisher, La Salle's Rodney Green and Temple's Ryan Brooks and Lavoy Allen.

Reynolds was selected All-Big 5 all 4 years at Villanova. Green also was a first-team member last year.

Reynolds averaged 18.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists this season as Villanova advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The second-team All-Big 5 members are: La Salle's Aaric Murray, Penn's Zack Rosen, Villanova's Antonio Pena, Temple's Juan Fernandez and Saint Joseph's Garrett Williamson.

In another matter, Green was selected to the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational all-tournament team.

Green averaged 16 points and six rebounds in three games against the country's top seniors. The Portsmouth Invitational brings together 64 seniors for a 4-day, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team. *
