Senior Scottie Reynolds scored 27 points in 29 minutes as fifth-ranked Villanova eased to a 110-84 exhibition victory over Kutztown last night at the Wachovia Center.

Junior Corey Fisher had 18 points and sophomore transfer Taylor King added 17 for the Wildcats, who led by as many as 32 early in the second half.

"It was fun," said King, who averaged 5.5 points and 2.0 rebounds for Duke during the 2007-08 season. "Even if it was an exhibition game, it was good to go out in front of a crowd. I worked real hard to get to this point, so it's good to be back."

Julius Gray scored 23 points and Stephen Dennis added 21 for Kutztown, a Division II power that advanced to the round of 16 last season.

Villanova opens the regular season a week from tonight, hosting Fairleigh Dickinson.

"It's not where we start, it's where we finish," Reynolds said. "If we can keep that mindset of trying to get better each game, anything is possible."

Would have liked to see a box score. Let's see a few years back St. Joe's was a basket away from the final four, and they are picked 10 in the A10 this year. Martelli really did a great job of using all that visibility to recruit top talents. Wright is by far the best Big 5 coach. Nova is solid top 10 program nationally. Great job Jay, you have the program soaring
