At home. Villanova played an NCAA tournament game last night for the 10th time in Philadelphia, but its No. 1 state for NCAA contests remains North Carolina. The Wildcats are 6-6 in games played in the Tarheel state.

Tap-ins. Villanova was trying to sustain two streaks in last night's game. The Wildcats were 19-0 this season against teams ranked lower than 50th in the Ratings Percentage Index. The Eagles ended the regular season No. 73 in the RPI. Plus, 'Nova was 6-0 in games that followed losses. . . . The Wildcats have more wins - 13 - as a lower seed than any other team since the NCAA began to seed teams in 1979, the latest being their first-round win as a No. 12 against fifth-seeded Clemson last year.
