HERE IS A LIST of guys who played for Public, Catholic or Inter-Ac schools, and are now about to compete in the NCAA Tournament:

Posted seven points and two rebounds off the bench as the Bears bested Norfolk State, 83-69, for the MEAC title. Missed 10 games with a knee injury. Had a 14-rebound game vs. South Carolina State. Second-team All-City in 2005, then did 2 years at prep schools and redshirted in '08.
Malik Alvin, Binghamton
6-foot, G, Sophomore

Contributed 14 points and four assists to the Bearcats' 61-51 win over UMBC for the America East championship. Second on the team in points (11.7) and steals (3.8) and leads the way at the foul line with 82.6 percent. Second-team All-City in 2006, then spent one season apiece at UTEP and Chipola JC (Fla.).

Once again named Most Outstanding Player in the A-10 tourney after splashing seven treys en route to 29 points in the title game. Averaging team-high 19.2 points and 34.9 minutes and he's second in rebounds (5.8) and assists (2.9). First Owl to score 600 points in three consecutive seasons. Third-team All-City in '04, then prepped at Lutheran.

Still as slinky/bouncy as ever, he has claimed 46 percent of his rebounds on offense. Shooting 47 percent from the floor while averaging 5.4 points. Has made 13 starts and averages 19.5 minutes of action. Third-team All-City in '04, then spent a year at Hargrave Military (Va.).
