Philly's Chambers to fight in London

Eddie Chambers tweeted that he will fight Ian Lewison in a heavyweight bout on April 12.

EDDIE CHAMBERS has set his next fight.

The veteran Philadelphia-based boxer announced via Twitter yesterday that he will match up against Ian Lewison on April 12. The Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Park in London will host the heavyweight fight, part of a card organized by United Kingdom boxing promoter Frank Warren.

Chambers (36-4, 18 knockouts) will enter as the favorite against Lewison (8-2-1, 5 knockouts). Chambers, who recently signed with Team Fury Promotions, has never fought in the UK. He will first fight on March 29, his 32nd birthday, in Newcastle.

"Time for WAR!! I'm back!!," he tweeted early yesterday from his personal account, @ChampfastEddie.

Chambers, who in 2010 fell short in a chance at a title against Wladimir Klitschko, has lost three of his last four fights, most recently to Thabiso Mchunu, a southpaw from South Africa, in a cruiserweight matchup at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn.

Lewison, 32, of London, is coming off a second-round knockout of Tom Dallas on Sept. 7 in London.
