Vick points finger at media

Could Eagles quarterback Michael Vick be feeling the heat from the media?

Speaking after practice on Saturday, Vick pointed a finger toward the media for making things difficult for the 3-4 Eagles.

Vick didn’t come out and say it was the media’s fault he has committed 13 turnovers, eight interceptions and five fumbles. Yet he gave an honest assessment what he thinks is the negative impact the media has had on the team.

“You guys create a lot of turmoil for us sometimes,” Vick said. “It’s cool man. We have to battle through it.”

It must be noted that Vick wasn’t saying this in a mean tone, just calmly stating his opinion.

“The quieter you all can be, the easier for us that we can concentrate and focus as individuals, as a unit as a team and organization,” he said.

So at least give Vick some points for his honesty. Many athletes suggest that what the media says means nothing.

“We are trying to block out everything,” Vick said. “We understand that is the nature of this business. We are trying to keep everything as low key and mellow as possible with all due respect.”

Low key in Philadelphia and concerning the Eagles?

That might be a more difficult task than remaining turnover-free against the Saints.

Finally someone with a brain. Of course he blames the media, they are totally deserving of blame. They do create discord and turmoil. The fact that the media are doing "their job" only makes it more understandable tht Vick is stating the obvious. Discussing the team is one thing but why ignore the faction of fans that Babin referred to, the white trash pathalogical ones? Why is it a surprise when player after player says "they love you when you are winning but..."? Posting mean spirited stuff certainly doesn't make you look intelligent or savvy about football.

Vick is pointing the finger at the media it happens to be the middle one, but then again they really were not his friends. To use a line from the movie "Jerry McGuire"..."This is show business not show friends" If Vick wants more friends and or fans then he better stop dropping the ball, throwing the ball away, and better start winning games. We pay the Eagles too much money for them to be such pathetic losers when they should have won the vast majority of their games this season. To think last year there was all this trash talk about a "dream team" and now look at them. If continue to play like this we're change their name from the Eagles to the Beagles (no pun intended concerning Vick and the dog reference, but I believe my dog could play a better game than what they have been playing )

This team is just falling apart. Blaming the fans, blaming the media, firing asst coaches, team meetings. I was wondering if the players watched the Thursday night game. The Chargers playing in quaint San Diego got booed off the field as they ran to the locker room at halftime.

Bringing in a guy like conVick was destined to ruin team morale and discipline. This is the non-surprising result. We all saw it coming.

Are there any black people who can take responsibility for their actions? It sure doesn't seem so.

Not everyone can play in this city. It takes a tremendous amount of character, work ethic, understanding and wisdom to last in this city. Vick doesn't have it!!!

Yes, Lenny Dykstra certainly had character, understanding and wisdom. It doesn't take anything in this town to succeed except realized talent. This fan base would cheer any criminal as long as he played well. Character means nothing. They embraced a dog torturer because he put their team's uniform on. All that piece of trash had to do was play well. Unfortunately for him and the Kool Aiders, he is over rated garbage and always will be.

This is the greatest Eagles season ever as far as I am concerned. Watching Vick flame out and taking that moron Reid with him is priceless justice. This team is 5 years away from competing.

P.S. Foles was a 3rd round pick by the Eagles which means he probably should have gone in the 6th or 7th round. People waiting for him to walk on water may be in for a disappointment.

So the media could help out by 'keeping quiet'?If the local media would just keep the results 'secret' then nobody would know about the season so far.I try to judge fairly but I really think that Vick has one of the lowest 'life IQ'S' that I've ever seen in sports. What a genuine,flat-out crybaby. This guy should shut up and be happy that he's been reluctantly allowed back into society.
