You've waited all offseason to hear Roy Halladay's side of the story. Well, you won't be disappointed. The Phillies ace was on a fishing expedition on the Amazon River when he and professional fisherman Skeet Reese happened upon a. . .

Well, Halladay says it is his favorite story, so we'll let him take it from here. . .

"I was not wrestling snakes. I was nowhere near snakes. We were just driving back. We had been fishing all day and we were on the boat driving back and we happened to see a guy sitting on the shore line without clothes. We couldn't talk to him. The guides had to talk to him. They were speaking Portuguese. He had been attacked by a snake and escaped, but it had ripped the engine off the boat and left all his stuff out in the middle of the river. So we picked up his stuff and drove him back to his tribe, I guess you would call it.

"What he was doing is he had nets underwater because he was diving for Aquarium fish. When he was diving for the fish the snake bit him on the backside and started wrapping him and when he was getting away from it, it pulled the shorts off him. So he swam to the banks and I guess the next closest thing for the snake to grab was the boat engine.

"By far I've told that story more than any other story I've ever had. And I've got the guys I went fishing with to thank for leaking it."

Now that is one nasty slider of a story.

Swing......and miss. The snake took off with the guys shorts and an engine cover. That slider is really ANGRY.

Let's hope Roy's nasty stuff can break and dodge like the naked tribesman.

This is ridiculous this is a paper in a top 5 media market and you misidentify skeet reese as skeet ulrich? One is a professional fisherman and the other is a terrible actor. Can someone please proofread these articles before it goes up. I'd get an F in grad school if I did anything like that and these guys get away with in multiple times a day, it's embarassing.

Obviously my point would be better served if I used correct grammar and proofread before submitting. It must have been the fact I was on Philly.com and that's what all the "writers" do.

LOL, this is the winner!! The most disconnected, confused story I have ever read on Philly.com.

Unablogger - take a break dude, 2. Your obsession with the former writer to this paper is a little weird. You've been posting this drivel all over the comment sheets.

    Please fix your picture, too.

This tall tale is right up there with the BS put out by the self-proclaimed hitting guru and Va State marbles champ of 1955.
