Temple basketball target Tosin Mehinti gave an oral commitment Sunday to play at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

The 6-foot-9 senior post player from Greenforest Mccalep Christian Academy (Ga.) chose the Blazers over the Owls, Mississippi State and Georgia. The Nigeria native was on an official visit to Temple last week.

"Compared to the other schools that were recruiting me, I felt that UAB was the best fit for me," Mehinti told AL.com. "When I came on my visit, I felt very comfortable with the players. UAB is the place for me."
