Temple return specialist Matt Brown was named the Big East specialist of the week on Monday.

The 5-foot-5, 165-pound senior had seven kickoff returns for a school single-game record 227 yards in Saturday's 45-17 setback at Louisville. The highlight was his 93-yard return for a touchdown on the opening kickoff.

The Baltimore native also had a 30-yard punt return against the Cardinals.

Brown was also named the national kickoff returner of the week by College Football Performance Awards on Sunday.
