Flyers winger Simon Gagne will have surgery Tuesday to repair small hernias in his groin area, general manager Paul Holmgren said this afternoon.

Gagne will "probably" miss 6 to 8 weeks, Holmgren said.

A while ago. Talking about surgerys, Peter Forsberg has been selected to play for Team Sweden in a 4 nations tournament against Russia, Finland and Czech Republic this weekend. Fore the first time since 04/05 his foot seems to be 100%

Let it begin. Gagne's hurt...Briere's groin is starting to hurt again. Why can't we stay healthy for even a quarter of a season for crying out loud?

I swear the reason is that the ice is bad at the Wac Center. Too soft = too much lateral effort to skate and pop goes the groin.

gagne last played a full season...last year, with 34 goals. Short memory people. in fact he has only missed significant time in 2 other seasons over his entire 10 year Flyers career.
