The Phillies may be playing like a team on its way to playoff elimination, but baseball is a numbers game.

We're way off from literally being eliminated, thanks to math. And nobody does math better than the guys at Baseball Prospectus, whose standings at the moment indicate each team's odds for making the post season in the form of a potentially depressing percentile.

The Phillies are a part of the 3%. 

That's a sum total of their 2.1% wild card shot and 0.9% divisional championship odds. Their World Series win percentage is an astronomical 0.1%, equal to the Mets and Royals.
