One story about Nick Foles' preparation habits

There will be a lot of discussion this week about Nick Foles. His teammates have raved about him since training camp. Here's an anecdote that tight end Clay Harbor shared that sheds light on Foles' preparation:
The Eagles can download game preparation material onto their iPads. Brent Celek had a couple of players over for dinner last Thursday, and Harbor was one of them. Harbor doesn't have wifi at his home, so he downloads all the material onto his iPad at the NovaCare Complex. The process takes a few hours, so Harbor downloaded the gametape before dinner and planned on returning after dinner to pick up the iPad.
Harbor was at Celek's home for about two hours. He returned to the facility around 7:30 p.m.. He walked into the tight end's meeting room, and Nick Foles and Trent Edwards were watching film, studying the opposing defense and drawing plays. The work day had been over for a few hours, and neither quarterback was expected to even play the game.
"That just tells you something about Nick," Harbor said. "That's a game he didn't know he was going to play. No idea he'd be in. Just great preparation. And that's the kind of player he is."
and it begins...bobby hoying lite---i've heard all this before. rinse, lather and repeat. Shemp Howard
I guess Mike was too busy to join them. bbohannon
The hits that Vick took wont nesserally translate into sacks for Foles, lets not forget that foles probably has a good 45lbs on Vick? So what would cause Vick to fall might not translate for Foles.
I by no means am crowning Foles a “savior” however I am interested in seeing what he looks like after a week of training with the 1st team. Alos his release is much faster than Vicks.
So Foles is
a) Bigger & stronger
b) Quicker release
c) Better suited for a taller O – Line.
What does not work for Vick might suite Foles just fine.

I think the most interesting comment in this article is that Harbor doesnt have wifi in his home. eaglesfan218
Foles is a tall SOB. Fewer helmet-balls almost guaranteed. gho_matt
Sources also said Harbor saw Foles and Edwards making out friedmozzarela
After seeing the offensive line play I'd espect to be playing if I was the backup quarterback so I wouldn't necessarily be lauding their game preperation routine. meteo30
Obviously this doesn't mean he'll be the next Manning...Just speaks volumes on the kind of player/person he his. He cares and wants to WORK. Also speaks volumes on the QB Reid hand picked starter..aka coach killer. Thought he learned from Atlanta days and his days in prison that you have to WORK hard and study...obviously NOT. Reid you made the wrong choice on this one and his attitude spread to the young players...he is a cancer as are you. RealizticFan
Guarantee we will see more SCREEN PASSES...then a left handed SHORT QB that doesn't know the meaning of touch or finesse cannot throw. RealizticFan
So where is Mike? it's amazing when you look at one of the first sideline shots after Foles played. He was looking at still photos of the opposing defenses like other "elite" quarterbacks do. I never have seen Vick look at any pictures. It's called preparation and review. A perfect example of why Michael Vick will never be an elite QB. alihajishank
I just made Foles my starting fantasy QB on the basis of this article. Let's see how I do. bwillie- Funny, I changed over to Foles right after the Eagles game. I really got toasted on my fantasy draft, I was 9th, so I got Vick and Sanchez as the backup.
I'm not doing very well this year, lol. verve
Look, unless you are a complete idiot, you know that Mike Vick will be an old man before the pieces are here for him to contend. Therefore, unless you are interested in a couple of meaningless wins, its a NO BRAIN ER to play Foles and see if he has it. Kioto
It's going to be so much fun to watch an Eagles quarterback learn, progress, read defenses, pick up blitz packages and eventually hit WRs in stride. Something we Eagles fans haven't seen in at least 15 years. bdd5014
Hey Nick Foles....your no better than a college player! Can't wait to see you get crushed by the Skins! Can I say Concussion #2! MRD
