Donovan McNabb's assertion that this is a "must-win" game for the Eagles will rightfully get a lot of attention here in Philadelphia.

Out in Chicago, reporters had other things on their minds when McNabb spoke to them on a conference call.

McNabb, of course, is a Chicago native, and his homecomings often bring suggestions about the possibility of his finishing his career there, even with the Bears' acquisition of Jay Cutler.

"That will never stop,'' McNabb said with a laugh, according to the Chicago Tribune. "But Jay's going to be all right. It's still a long season ahead of us. I look for good things to happen over here in Philadelphia, and I'm sure he's looking for the same thing in Chicago.''

McNabb also was asked about his benching against Baltimore last year, in the context of the fate that Cutler might face. The Bears have lost four of their last five games.

"Nobody wants to be benched,'' McNabb said. "I'm sure you guys don't want to be pulled from writing your great articles that you guys write ... a suspension for a week or two. Then you'll probably be outside kicking old papers, sitting on the bench drinking coffee and feeling like nobody loves you.''

Meanwhile, cornerback Sheldon Brown, who left the San Diego loss with a strained hamstring, was a limited participant in yesterday's practice. Brown said he felt there was a "good chance" he will be able to continue his streak of 133 successive games played since entering the NFL in 2002. The outlook seemed less promising for weakside linebacker Akeem Jordan. Left tackle Jason Peters practiced and is on track to play in Chicago.

From the Bears' side of the injury report, tight end Desmond Clark (neck), center Olin Kreutz (back) and safety Kevin Payne (back) did not participate in practice. Defensive tackle Tommie Harris (knee) and safety Al Afalava (shoulder) were limited participants.

as long mcpuke keeps putting up good stats when the game is already out of reach, he doesn't really care who wins. i'm really sick of his goofy smiles after throwing balls at receivers feet.

Chicago has lost 4 of their last 5, but not 4 in a row.

Fire Andy Reed and Donovan McNabb's I went to the San Diego game their were over 20,000 eagles fans Why must we fans keep putting up with Andy's bad coching and Donovan bad QB. I hate it when he laughs after a major F up. Why did we get Vick? He came in for one play. Then we can't even get into the end zone from the 1 yrd line with 3 downs. What do we do kick a field gold down 14 zip. If Philly ever want to get to super bowl Andy and the Donovan show MUST GO BYE BYE

All you idiot eagle fans need to get a grip!!! I agree with you bye bye reid and Marty see you later too cuz the play calling is terrible. But all you guys wanna do is sit there and blame McNabb. I ask all of ya's do you have a better option at QB right now cuz if you think its Vick you's are on drugs. There's too many mistakes right now too many penalties, the offensive line sucks, the defense is so inconsistent, Moises foiku has a huge penalty every week that kills us!! And you's say mcnabb only has big numbers when he's trying to comeback in the game? For your info he had 179 passing yards at the half which to me is pretty damn good. You can tell, well i can tell that he seemed pretty much disgusted with the playcalling himself. You guys can say what you want but this teams best chance of winning right now is with him so learn to live with it or root for someone else!! If they can cut the mistakes they would be fine and call better plays on the goaline. What did we sign Weaver for, you tell me if you hand the ball to him 4 straight times from the 1 he's not gonna score yah rite!! We'll see in January when you's are all back on the bandwagon!!! GO BIRDS We got these next 2 games

Quasimoto, how about the NFC offensive player of week #3? You know, the guy who shows a little touch on short throws, the guy who hits receivers in stride, the guy who knows that the offense is predicated on timing, not waiting intil you see someone open, then throwing the ball as hard as you can. How about that guy?

The autoplay videos were bad enough but now autoplay commercials. And before the lemmings say that I can easily mute them, that is not the point. How about the site let adults make choices for themselves without being forcefed advertisements that usually annoy - even in the remote chance that I might be interested in the product. Site visits are decreasing as it is for me, but keep it up. You guys obviously know alot about things like this and newspaper viability. What's that? Exactly.

mcnabb is the least of this teams problems right now...how bout horrible coaching and play calling...too many penalties each week..55 passes to 13 runs is not gonna get it done against anybody... & in consistent o-line who cant pick up a 1st & goal from the 1.....a defense who can't make a stop when the game is on the line or cover any teams tight end...mcnabb aint perfect but give him some semblance of balance on offense and he can get it done..anyone who doubts that just refer back to the giants game

Cutler will look like Elway this week. I expect about 3 running plays from Reid, all fully telegraphed by bringing in Vick for the 'Wildcat'....Bears 26 Eagles 12 ...Keep it up with the intrusive/obnoxious ads and you fools will kill this medium for yourselves faster than you killed the print editions....

I realize McNabb isn't the best QB in the league, but he's the best the Eagles have had. Show him some respect. I swear to god, did you see some of the ducks Manning threw against the Pats. It happens. Let it go. None of you ever get on the receivers for dropping balls. You just say it was McNabb's fault for not hitting them perfectly in stride. You know what? If you throw the ball 40 to 50 times a game behind a shaky O-line some of those passes are going to be off. As for Andy Reid I agree he can be a problem. But the solution isn't getting rid of him. Look how he's rebuilt this team without going through a terrible transition. Look at his record this decade. If only he could make game day adjustments and manage the clock...
