Allen Iverson will miss the Sixers' last two games before the All-Star break -- tonight at home against Minnesota and tomorrow in Toronto -- as he continues to deal with an illness being suffered by one of his daughters.

He will return to the Sixers' lineup against Miami next Tuesday at the Wachovia Center. He has missed the last three games -- all Sixers wins.

What that means for Sunday's All-Star Game in Dallas remains unclear. Iverson was voted an Eastern Conference starter by the fans.

This will be Iverson’s 11th straight All-Star appearance, and the first by a Sixer since 2006.

"Our understanding is, he will still be an All-Star,‘’ league spokesperson Tim Frank wrote the Daily News in an email.

The Sixers go for their first five-game winning streak of the season tonight against the Timberwolves. Lou Williams will play after missing yesterday's practice with a sinus infection. Rodney Carney will not play with a head cold.

The test would be whether coach had a discussion of playing time with AI1 just prior to the family event!!

Are you people serious? His daughter is in the hospital with a serious illness of an undisclosed nature. Is this attitude really what the city of Philadelphia has come to?

Iverson will gain a lot of credibility if he chooses to skip the All Star game. It will show that he has priorities in the right place.

For crying out loud people. His child is sick. He has his priorities straight. He should be with his family and not playing a freakin game. I am a sports fan but not when it comes between family, especially kids. I'm not an Iverson fan but I am for this one.

simemom.... you're right. He should be with his family while his child is sick. The question is whether he will be there during the All Star game. I have faith that he will make the right decision.

I don't know about theories, but I think Iverson being out of the lineup is good for the Sixers. Jrue Holiday continues to improve his offensive game while he already plays good defense, and that's what this franchise needs moving forward.

If the child isn't sick enough for him to miss the All Start Game, I have a hard time believing the child has been sick enough for him to miss two weeks of games. It would seem a recovery by that game is very convenient. Just cut him and be done with it.

Allen plays like the knight on the bridge in Monty Python & the Holy Grail fights (no arms & no legs) if he could, but his kids sick. JimDu said it right Genius pickup. The Sixers team have played better since Iverson has been back even he has been back, even when he hasn't played. He's a HOFer and he doesn't have to carry the team (like for so many years he felt he had too). 5 in a row tonight - I'm encouraged... Allen can rest those knees for the play-offs (ye of little faith)!
