Four days after dumping Reggie Brown, the Eagles are bringing back wide receiver Hank Baskett tomorrow morning for a free agent look-see. Free agent running back Justin Fargas will also visit the NovaCare Complex tomorrow.

Baskett will meet with the media at 11 a.m. and Fargas at 1:30 p.m.

The Eagles released Baskett early last season and he was picked up by the Colts. Hank "Hands" was part of the Indianapolis team that reached the Super Bowl. If you recall, it was Baskett that couldn't secure a Saints onsides kick to open the second half.

The 27-year-old Baskett spent a little more than three seasons with the Eagles. If the Eagles were the sign him it would give them the large receiver they lack. Of course, the 6-foot-4 Baskett wouldn't see many snaps with DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant already in the fold.

Vargas was released by the Raiders last week because he supposedly failed a physical. He denied that claim. Last season, the 6-1, 220-pound tailback was second on the team in rushing, gaining 491 yards on 129 carries. With Brian Westbrook no longer with the Eagles, the team needs another running back to complement the young LeSean McCoy.

Baskett would be a good pick-up as a #4 WR. He can play special teams. He has made plays for the Eagles in the past. They know he can step in as a starter in case of injury. With DJax, Maclin, Avant, Baskett the Eagles would be set for years at the WR position.

Hey Jeff in the headline and last paragraph you called him Justin "Vargas". You did get "Fargas" right in the first paragraph though! I had a feeling the colts wouldn't tender Baskett after the season. Id take him back as our #4 or #5 any day. As for Fargas, I always thought he was underrated. He's a power back with quickness and he has a career 4.1 yds per carry on some TERRIBLE Raiders teams.

I think that Fargas would fit well with the Eagles offense. He is certainly a change of pace from Shady, and he has a real NFL RB body. I think that he would work better than Mike Bell in the Birds scheme. That being said, the Eagles should draft an early mid-round RB. Eldra Buckley is purely special teams filler.

Everyone knows the only reason why they kept Brown and not Baskett was the cap hit. Cant hurt if they can get him back for a good price

6 - 4 with hands is a good fit Jackson isn't a short yardage threat he is a big yardage threat. Nice off season getting help at safety and bringing back the weave.

Did anyone watch the Super Bowl? Hank Baskett is afraid of contact, that onside kick that hit him in the head turned the entire momentum of the Super Bowl in the Saints favor. That play may have lost the Super Bowl for the Colts. Bottom line he isn't worth signing. You know what he has and that isn't saying much. Put the money into developing young talent.

Say what u will about Baskett, he has been to and played in the Super Bowl more recently than any of the players on the current roster (Marlin Jackson was in street clothes). Its just a look, we will see. Fargas is a middle of the road player, right down the FO's alley.

It just continues to go from bad to worse. Next year will be the first time in 11 years that I dread football season. The window of opportunity is finally closed. The reality is finally hitting me.

Fargas has been a solid, reliable back on some very poor Raiders teams. He's also a very versatile player who always gives 100% effort. If he's healthy, the Eagles would be wise to add him to their stable of running backs.
