Amaro has never acquired a single young elite player --or even a single quality prospect -- in his 4 years at the reign -- all while spending the highest budget in the league and discarding a dozen of the team's best prospects (accumulated before his reign ) --NOT A SINGLE YOUNG STAR OR QUALITY PROSPECT IN 4 YRS warbiscuit- Dopey moronic tool
DogBiscuitthedope - Who? warbiscuit or Reuben?
Jacob - Yeah, Tommy Joseph was only the Giants #2 prospect--no quality there. And elite players who are not young, like Halladay or Lee, are just plain worthless when it comes to winning games or having the best record in baseball. Amaro is a fool for drafting Ryan Howard, who choked in the playoffs...wait, he didn't draft Howard? Well, he hired that oaf, Cholly, who left Lee in against the Cards too long to give up a 4 run lead...wait, he didn't hire Cholly? I'm no fan of Amaro, but if you're gonna be a troll at least tell the truth.

Agree Warbiscuit, and we only get rid of a few guys and they call this rebuilding, more like swapping!!! huntnmike3666
build for future?...what are you smoking?...rube the boob is clueless 1stamendment
amaro does it again, trades and gets nothing back in return, now trades pence who we gave up our #1 hitting prospect and #1 pitching prospect and a another to prospect.anthony gose we gave away for oswalt.what our we left with but an old aging team, amaro you have nobody to blame but yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! chuck obara- It's interesting that the most moronic comments always end with lots of !!!!!! or ????, is that to draw more attention to the stupidity?
DogBiscuitthedope - Oh and another thing genius, that #1 pitching prospect has a 6.32 era this year, and Gose has a 265 minor league avg, now don't you feel like a real dope?
DogBiscuitthedope - That's funny. You're the one who uses that identification in his posting name, yet accuse another of bettering you.

I like the moves, though it was disappointing that they still couldn't move Blanton. He's a good candidate for the waiver wire. I'm of the mind that they never should have sent Brown down during a month when he was hitting hot in 2011. I think we'll look back in a year or two and see the whole Pence adventure as a wasteful move that delayed a homegrown player and lost two good prospects. jtj06- "...they still couldn't move Blanton." Ha,ha,got that right. Of course, I'm taking you mean that literally about The Blob.
TEDcGEGI - if you guys knew anything about baseball you'd be dangerous. Blanton would be a #3 on most teams in the league. The fact that he is in his last year of his contract is the only reason to consider a trade - but you will see he will be in a Phillies uniform next year because he will be signed by the end of the year.

Pitcher Martin and catcher Joseph are 2 very highly rated prospects. Bowa liked Martin very much. Larry said he pitched in mid 90s and can hit 97. Martin is a converted infielder. He had control problems but has improved in that area. Joseph turned 21 2 weeks ago. He is reported to have power and outstanding arm. Don w
Dog, I see you are aptly named. Pence was a decent gamble, but the whole lineup shut down against StL. I doubt the prospects will come back to haunt us. The bigger issue with Amaro is he doesn't know how to find diamonds in the rough like Victorino and Werth. He's always preferred aging vets to young guys with talent. With the possible exception of some all field no hit middle infielders even his bench reflected his complete lack of baseball knowledge as he stocked it with older, way past their prime hitters instead of trying to find eventual successors for some of our aging vets. Doesn't help he decided Howard and Utley were going to be the core of the lineup and they aged about 10 years between 2008 and 2009. lazyboy
