Will Michael Vick be happy if the Eagles keep him in the same role next season? (David Maialetti / Staff Photographer)

Michael Vick continued to make the rounds yesterday, speaking to FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer on the set of Spike TV's Pros vs. Joes.

But instead of discussing which team he'd like to play for next season, or what uniforms he's fond of, Vick addressed the possibility of returning to the Eagles in the same role he was in last season.

Vick has made it clear that he wants to play and wants to start.

Last season, he never created a distraction by complaining about playing time. But would that change this year if he were brought back in a similar role? Only touching the ball a few times a game?

"If I’m in the same situation, I’ll just have to suck it up and go out and play and listen to what Andy [Reid] wants me to do and understand I’m there to play a certain role to try to help the Eagles win a Super Bowl," he said. "I can’t be a disgruntled employee, because that’s not who I am."

Perhaps that's how Vick really feels. Or perhaps he's realized that the Eagles are publicly doing everything in their power to convince teams that they're seriously considering bringing back all three quarterbacks -- even if it's only to create a better market for his services.

"The Eagles know what I want to do," Vick continued, "but I don’t know if it’ll happen. I’m trying to stay optimistic and believe in the organization. Whatever happens, I’m cool with it. If I’m there, I’m happy; if I move on, I’m happy. I’m just fortunate that I have teams who find me valuable. What more can be done? My film speaks for itself. The Eagles know what I can do, which is why I think they picked up the option."

Vick attempted 13 passes last season and carried the ball 24 times.

If the Birds do bring him back, Vick better get used to answering questions about his playing time and his role because they are sure to follow him around the second he arrives at Lehigh.

The Eagles would be DUMB not too utilize a FOOTBALL player like him. If you nitwits dont remember what kind of player he was let me remind you. He was a #1 overall pick, franchise QB, at one point the highest paid player in the game, and the PROTYPE QB of the FUTURE. Football analysts used to rave about this guy and how he would change the game, if he properly developed a balance in his scrambling ability and passing , ala Steve Young. He CARRIED his team to one game away from the SB a few years back. The guy was a young pup, [ no pun :) ]22,23,24 yrs old the most electrifying player the game has ever seen and we have him on our roster for PEANUTS and YOU BOZOS want to start KEVIN KLOB aka the 2nd coming of Bobby Hoying? over him? You LOSERS deserve to Super Bowless SMH. Dipset

These quotes tell me the Eagles went to Vick and told him the more he talks about playing for other teams, the harder it will be for them to trade him

To mike vick: Please be disgruntled, and please cause trouble, and please ruin the season for this immoral team that signed this putrid criminal.

If he remains on the team he may not act disgruntled, but I don't think he'll exactly be gruntled either

I would love to see Vick back next season for about 7 to 10 plays a game backing up starter Kolb, with Tebow as our 3rd QB. While low-throw McBlow is up in Seattle killing worms.

BooDuhBud: Not sure why you are trashing ALL Eagles fans. Yes, Vick is a football player, but he has never been a true QB. He was more of a glorified RB that could play the QB position. Did he help Atlanta win games? Absolutely, but from what I recall. The McNabb led Eagles made it further than any of the Vick led Falcon teams.
