After only 78 minutes on the field for the Union, defender David Myrie was released this afternoon.

As I wrote yesterday, Myrie didn't play all that well in Seattle. But I'm surprised the Union got rid of him altogether.

Your thoughts?

How does your opinion of a player change so drastically after one game that you go from starter to getting cut? Unless there's some off-field issue lurking, this is an indictment of the talent evaluation skills of the Union staff

Jonathan, any word on how many tickets have been sold for the home opener against DC United on April 10th? With 10k plus season ticket holders, I'd imagine it has to be above 20k right now.

Drop Myrie, add Szeleta. Sounds like a positive move in my book. I wouldn't even call it a risk. What are the chances Szeleta gets on the field for the April 10th game against United? (Szeleta news via a report by SBI)

I don't think being a starter for the team's first few games really means that much. A few players are a given, but the rest are starting cause you just have to have some 11 people out there. I hope McInnerny gets more time on the field.
