Turner next on list

The 76ers will interview Houston Rockets assistant coach Elston Turner on Friday in Philadelphia.

Turner told KRIV-TV in Houston that he plans to interview for both the Sixers opening and the Chicago Bulls opening. Turner said he hasn't yet set a date for his interview with the Bulls.

Turner previously interviewed for the head coaching vacancies with the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves. He has worked as an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers and, for the last three seasons, with the Rockets.

The Sixers have interviewed six candidates so far: Doug Collins, Avery Johnson, Sam Mitchell, Bill Laimbeer, Dan Majerle, and Monty Williams. The search, it appears, continues.
