Roy Halladay to pitch Thursday for Clearwater

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Roy Halladay's return to the Phillies rotation could be a mere week away.
Halladay will make a rehab start for single-A Clearwater on Thursday at Bright House Field. He has not pitched in a game since May 27, when he left with a right lat muscle strain.
If all goes well with Clearwater, Halladay will likely start Tuesday in Los Angeles, the fifth game after the all-star break. That would give him three starts before the July 31 trade deadline.
This will be Halladay's first appearance in the minors since 2001, when he began the season there as banishment for a disastrous stint in the majors with Toronto.

Trade Roy for three 4 or 5 tool players who will be with the phils for the next 10 years seems to make sense. Really, no one wants to see roy go but this is a business. - I don't agree that anyone is being "rushed" back. If these guys can play (Utley, Howard, Halladay), why waste time having them play in the minor leagues? These guys are getting paid big bucks. If they're capable of playing, it should be for the Phillies, not a Single A minor league team. None of the three will be 100% until next season (if ever). Even so, are you suggesting that they sit until 2013 when they are capable of playing, albeit at 80% of normal capacity?— SteveS11
