Report: Eagles DE Trent Cole underwent hand surgery

According to USA Today's Mike Garafolo, Eagles defensive end Trent Cole underwent hand surgery this week. Luckily for new coach Chip Kelly and defensive coordinator Billy Davis, it doesn't appear to be serious.

The person, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because the Eagles haven't released any information on Cole's surgery, said it wasn't a major operation but could sideline Cole for a portion of the spring.

The person said Cole has been dealing with the issue for over a year and is hoping this procedure will finally correct it, especially since Cole relies on using his hands so much.
