The Pittsburgh Steelers have been forced to fly to New York on Sunday morning, instead of days before their game against the Giants, because of Hurricane Sandy.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers were originally supposed to stay at a Westin in Jersey City, N.J., before the game. But the hotel has no power, and the team could not find any other accomodations near MetLife Stadium.

NFL rules mandate that teams must travel to road games the day before they take place, but it has been bypassed before due to weather emergencies.

The Steelers will now into New York Sunday morning, go straight to the stadium, play the game and fly back home that night.
