Phillies walk off with another win

Another day, another walk-off win for the Phillies in Clearwater, this time it was a 4-3 win against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays.

Another day, another walk-off win for the Phillies in Clearwater, this time a 4-3 win against the visiting Tampa Bay Rays.

But unlike in their win over the Yankees, when the Phillies needed a dramatic two-run home run to get the victory, today they did it with a little bit of small ball.

A DeWayne Wise walk and a single by Gregg Dobbs to start the ninth inning set the stage for Brian Schneider's sacrifice fly to the deepest part of the field, allowing Wise to tag and score easily from third.

It wasn't all small ball for the Phillies. Ryan Howard smashed two solo home runs off of Rays starter Matt Garza, including a mammoth blast in the third that cleared the right field berm completely.

Shane Victorino added a solo shot for his first home run of the spring, and Dobbs finished with two hits.

Phillies starter Joe Blanton threw 5 1/3 workmanlike innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out two in the no-decision.

Chad Durbin allowed only one hit in the final two frames to pick up his first win of the spring for the Phillies. Durbin has not allowed an earned run during this exhibition season.

Matt Joyce and Evan Longoria each had a double for the Rays in the losing effort.

The Phillies (10-7-1) will travel to Lake Buena Vista tomorrow to face the Atlanta Braves at the Wide World of Sports Complex. J.A. Happ is the scheduled starter for Philadelphia.
