Not surprising they have been on him for a while now, I would have rather seen Castellanos or Wilson, or even Bryce Bentz. They stayed around slot with this pick, Im sure Biddle will sign quickly. Not a bad pick just an overdraft with the talent available
Sliced Bread is the best thing since Matt Wieters

Tonka, you can run your mouth about your hockey club all you want, but don't bring Gene Hart's name into it that way. Consider yourself marked for abuse.

They didn't pick Castellanos because he will only sign for a big bonus. The Phillies like to use the overslot money in their draft budget on guys they pick later in the draft. That's why so many of their best prospects are guys they picked in the later rounds, not the earlier rounds. Their top three prospects right now are probably Dominic Brown (20th round), Jarred Cosart (38th round), and Jonathan Singleton (8th round). They gave all those guys big bonuses. They'll probably do the same thing this year with guys they draft tomorrow who won't be in the news.

About Pattison Ave.
No matter what color tints the blood pumping through the heart of this sports-crazed city, the artery carrying that passion from the faithful fans to their beloved teams has long been Pattison Avenue.
Paved with triumph and (too much) heartache, the road that runs through the South Philadelphia stadium complex has played many roles for Philadelphia sports fans through the years, at times acting as this city's Broadway, Easy Street, Main Street U.S.A. and Yellow Brick Road.
This blog was created by the Philly.com sports team in that same spirit, offering an eclectic resource for news and nuggets about Philadelphia sports and beyond. Breaking news, analysis, random thoughts, viral videos, odds and ends -- you'll find it all here on Pattison Ave.
