The Phillies will send four players to St. Louis for the 2009 MLB All-Star game. Chase Utley and Raul Ibanez were voted in as starters while Ryan Howard made it as a reserve. Shane Victorino received a record-breaking 15.6M online fan votes to claim the final NL roster spot.

Chase Utley, 2B

Chase Utley won the fan vote and will be the starting second baseman for the National League. This will be the fifth time Utley has played in an All-Star Game. Utley receieved a total of 5,027,029 votes, the second-highest total of all National League players.

Ibanez was one of three outfielders voted into the National League starting lineup. This will be Ibanez's first ever All-Star Game. Ibanez receieved 4,053,355 votes, the second-highest total among outfielders and the fourth-highest total overall in the National League.

Howard was selected to the team as a reserve by manager Charlie Manuel. St. Louis' Albert Pujols is the All-Star starter at first base. Pujols receieved 5,397,734 votes, the highest overall total in the National League. Howard finished in third place among first basemen with 2,059,760 votes.
