Zach Berman's 2017 NFL mock draft

The 2017 NFL draft begins Thursday night in Philadelphia.

Our four Eagles reporters – Zach Berman, Les Bowen, Paul Domowitch and Jeff McLane – predict which players will be chosen by which teams in the first round of the NFL draft Thursday night in Philadelphia. Below is Zach Berman's prediction, and the links to the others are here: Les Bowen, Paul Domowitch and Jeff McLane.

1. Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M

The Browns can worry about a quarterback later - Garrett is the draft's top talent and too good to pass up at this spot.

2. San Francisco 49ers: Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford

The 49ers take a defensive lineman for the third year in a row, but Thomas has too much talent to pass up.

3. Chicago Bears: Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State

The Bears have tried to fix their secondary this offseason, and it continues with the addition of the rangy safety.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars: Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU

Forget that the Jaguars have already invested in running back - Fournette's talent is too hard to pass up for a team that needs an offensive identity.

5. Tennessee Titans: Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State

The Titans have a hole at cornerback and can fill it with the best cornerback in the draft.

6. New York Jets: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

The big question is when a quarterback will go first, and which one. Watson proved himself on the biggest stage in college football.

7. Los Angeles Chargers: Jamal Adams, S, LSU

The Chargers addressed their defensive line last year, and they now can get a leader for the back end of their defense.

8. Carolina Panthers: Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

The Panthers help Cam Newton by bringing in the draft's most versatile offensive performer.

9. Cincinnati Bengals: Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama

Allen is one of the best players in the draft and presents too much value for the Bengals to pass up.

10. Buffalo Bills: O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama

Maybe the Bills look quarterback, but why not take a top tight end who can help the entire offense?

11. New Orleans Saints: Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama

The Saints could look for a pass rusher or cornerback, although Foster would also help their defense and can impose his personality.

12. Cleveland Browns: Mitch Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

The Browns might need to trade up to land Trubisky, but the Cleveland-area native will try to break a string of quarterback misses for the Browns.

13. Arizona Cardinals: Mike Williams, WR, Clemson

This is a good spot for one of the top three wide receivers - Williams would give them a physical threat on the outside.

14. Eagles: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee

The Eagles will look to improve their pass rush, and Barnett broke Reggie White's sack record at Tennessee. Allen would be ideal if he slips. This pick could be a cornerback, especially if Gareon Conley is cleared of wrongdoing.

15. Indianapolis Colts: Takkarist McKinley, OLB, UCLA

The Colts find a player who can help around the edge and fits their defensive scheme.

16. Baltimore Ravens: Haason Reddick, LB, Temple

The Ravens improve their defense with a do-it-all Camden native who comes with the traits and toughness the team craves.

17. Washington Redskins: Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama

Humphrey has big potential at cornerback, and Washington will try to unearth it by plugging a need.

18. Tennessee Titans: John Ross, WR, Washington

The Titans missed out on Brandin Cooks, but they can add speed with the wide receiver who recorded the fastest 40-yard dash at the combine.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Cam Robinson, OL, Alabama

The Bucs upgraded Jameis Winston's weapons already this offseason. Now, they work on protecting him.

20. Denver Broncos: Ryan Ramczyk, OL, Wisconsin

The Broncos need help on the offensive line. They'll be able to find one in the first round even though it's a weak class.

21. Detroit Lions: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan

The Lions upgrade their pass rush with a tall, long Michigan product who could bookend Ziggy Ansah on the line.

22. Miami Dolphins: Forrest Lamp, OL, Western Kentucky

The Dolphins take an offensive lineman in the first round for the third time in five years, but they get a versatile one who can play multiple spots.

23. New York Giants: David Njoku, TE, Miami

The Giants continue to upgrade their skill positions with a tight end whose athleticism will be an instant upgrade at the position.

24. Oakland Raiders: Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida

The Raiders address their defense with an underrated player who can step in at linebacker.

25. Houston Texans: Patrick Mahomes III, QB, Texas Tech

Bill O'Brien has tried different ways to add a quarterback, but he hasn't used a first-round pick. That changes with the strong-armed quarterback.

26. Seattle Seahawks: Kevin King, CB, Washington

King looks and plays like a Seahawks cornerback. He can become one on draft night.

27. Kansas City Chiefs: Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU

The Chiefs have a loaded roster. They help their secondary with one of college football's best cornerbacks from last season.

28. Dallas Cowboys: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri

The Cowboys must improve their pass rush and Harris is one of the best pass rushers available.

29. Green Bay Packers: T.J. Watt, OLB, Wisconsin

The Packers will please their local fans with J.J. Watt's younger brother, who is an impressive prospect in his own right.

30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Corey Davis, WR, Central Michigan

Three wide receivers will go in the first round, and the Steelers are a good landing spot for one.

31. Atlanta Falcons: Malik McDowell, DL, Michigan State

The Falcons will find a way to use McDowell, who has size, talent, and upside.

32. New Orleans Saints: Adoree' Jackson, CB, USC

The Patriots could draft here if they trade Malcolm Butler. If not, the Saints improve their defense with a dynamic cornerback.
