NBA 2015 mock draft

1 Minnesota Timberwolves
The consensus is that this pick will be Karl-Anthony Towns, who averaged just 21.1 minutes for a loaded Kentucky team. He will need to play more for the Wolves.
Pick: C Karl-Anthony Towns, Kentucky.

2 Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers have been making waves about possibly taking D'Angelo Russell, but it will be hard to pass up a big man.
Pick: C Jahlil Okafor, Duke.

3 76ers
The Sixers are said to like Russell and they also worked out point guard Emmanuel Mudiay. GM Sam Hinkie has seen 7-foot-1, 220-pound Latvian sensation Kristaps Porzingis on several occasions.
Pick: PF Kristaps Porzingis, Sevilla (Spain).

4 New York Knicks
The Knicks need offense, although their defense, which allowed 101.2 ppg., wasn't too hot, either.
Pick: PG D'Angelo Russell, Ohio State.

5 Orlando Magic
Look for Orlando, which was ready to hop on Porzingis had he stayed in last year's draft, to have its eye on an international player who never met a shot he doesn't like.
Pick: SF/SG Mario Hezonja, Barcelona (Spain).

6 Sacramento Kings
This is a team that notoriously has drafted poorly. Remember taking Jimmer Fredette one pick ahead of Golden State, which selected Klay Thompson, in 2011?
Pick: PG Emmanuel Mudiay, Guangdong, China.

7 Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets were tied for 27th in scoring defense. Willie Cauley-Stein is the top defensive frontcourt player in the draft.
Pick: F/C Willie Cauley-Stein, Kentucky.

8 Detroit Pistons
Detroit is looking for a wing scorer/defender and Justise Winslow fits the bill.
Pick: SF Justise Winslow, Duke.

9 Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets were the NBA's worst three-point shooting team (.318) and Devin Booker shot 41.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Pick: SG Devin Booker, Kentucky.

10 Miami Heat
The Heat have free-agent issues to deal with but should be able to find a frontcourt rotation player at No.Pick: C Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin.

11 Indiana Pacers
Center Roy Hibbert, who has a player option, doesn't appear to have a long-range future with the Pacers, so that position could be addressed.
Pick: C Myles Turner, Texas.

12 Utah Jazz
This is a franchise on the upswing but one that was 26th in scoring (95.1 ppg.). That is why Utah should look for a shooter.
Pick: SF Sam Dekker, Wisconsin.

13 Phoenix Suns
The Suns could use frontcourt depth. Here is a place for one of the underrated players in the draft.
Pick: PF Trey Lyles, Kentucky.

14 Oklahoma City Thunder
Stanley Johnson could go much higher than this, but his offensive limitations are a concern.
Pick: SF Stanley Johnson, Arizona.

15 Atlanta Hawks
Kelly Oubre has top-five talent but averaged just 9.3 ppg. At this point, teams are drafting on potential.
Pick: SF Kelly Oubre, Kansas.

16 Boston Celtics
There is a lot of talk that this pick could be traded. If not, Kevon Looney could be the choice.
Pick: PF Kevon Looney, UCLA.

17 Milwaukee Bucks
Former Sixer Michael Carter-Williams is the point guard, but the Bucks could use depth.
Pick: PG Cameron Payne, Murray State.

18 Houston Rockets
Houston needs depth at point guard, and Tyus Jones is a cerebral player who could find immediate minutes.
Pick: PG Tyus Jones, Duke.

19 Washington Wizards
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson from Chester High is among the best defensive players in the draft.
Pick: SF Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Arizona.

20 Toronto Raptors
Former Sixer Lou Williams, the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year, is a free agent and if he isn't re-signed, Toronto will need to find some scoring.
Pick: SG R.J. Hunter, Georgia State.

21 Dallas Mavericks
The trade for Rajon Rondo didn't work out and the Mavs, who have many needs, could look to improve their point guard depth.
Pick: PG Jerian Grant, Notre Dame.

22 Chicago Bulls
If Bobby Portis is available, the Bulls could select a player who averaged 1.4 blocks and has a defensive mind-set.
Pick: PF Bobby Portis, Arkansas.

23 Portland Trail Blazers
With Wes Matthews suffering the Achilles injury, the Trail Blazers will look at shooting guard.
Pick: SG Rashad Vaughn, UNLV.

24 Cleveland Cavaliers
Justin Anderson was one of the top defensive players in the country and also shot 45.2 percent from three-point range.
Pick: SF Justin Anderson, Virginia.

25 Memphis Grizzlies
With no surefire offensive players at this stage, Memphis could upgrade its already-strong D.
Pick: PF Montrezl Harrell, Louisville.

26 San Antonio Spurs
Few teams do a better job of drafting foreign talent, and the Spurs could go that route again with a teammate of Kristaps Porzingis.
Pick: C Guillermo Hernangomez, Sevilla (Spain).

27 Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers have many needs and could get a decent value pick here.
Pick: PG Delon Wright, Utah.

28 Boston Celtics
The Celtics could add point guard depth.
Pick: PG Terry Rozier, Louisville.

29 Brooklyn Nets
Selecting this low, look for the Nets to gamble and take a flier on yet another Kansas player whose potential is much greater than his output.
Pick: F/C Cliff Alexander, Kansas.

30 Golden State Warriors
The NBA champions won't need immediate help in the draft, so they could do a draft-and-stash.
Pick: G/F Cedi Osman, Anadolu Efes (Turkey).
