Andre Miller has agreed to terms with the Portland Trail Blazers, agent Andy Miller has confirmed to the Daily News.

The deal is believed to be for two or three years with a starting salary higher than the mid-level exception of $5.8 million. Portland had $9 million in salary cap space meaning the Blazers did not have to do a sign-and-trade with the Sixers.

The Blazers turned their attention to Miller when they could not finalize a deal with David Lee of the New York Knicks. Negotiations with Miller picked up speed in the last 24 to 48 hours.

“I think this is a good deal,” Andy Miller said. “I think it is a great deal for the marketplace.”

Too bad they didn't do a sign and trade with another team.

I don't blame the Sixers for avoiding a 3-year commitment to Miller, but the team will not be as good without him. This could be a tough year ahead. At least we have the old unies back.

To not get something in return for Miller since last year at the deadline is without doubt the height of incompetence. Not even a decent player, nothing, wow!!

the young players will be forced to learn the game for a year and we should be able to get a lottery pick when its all said and done so its not bad. pick up some YOUNG role guys to get us by unless they grab allen iverson for a year he still needs a job and cant hurt the team.

i hope the team doesn't drown in red ink and leave. attendance at the center will rival the numbers of pigeons in the spectrum rafters. get ready for a truckload of giveaway nights and discounts.

After letting young pieces like Korver and Rodney Carney go for nothing to make way to sign the bust-in-the-making, Elton Brand, giving Iguodala Superstar money when he's definitely not a superstar, and now letting Miller walk with nothing to show for it, where's Billy King when you need him? Never thought I'd say that..

this is fine, let the young guards learn, with Miller we were good enough not to be in the lottery but never a contender.

It appears Stefanski totally misjudged and misplayed this one. I don't care if we all got was some stiff with an expiring contract, we had to get SOMETHING for Miller. Stefanski botched this one -- big time!

We should have gotten something for Miller. It's hard to be satisfied with this outcome.

Sign and trade would have been pointless. Might as well have paid Miller if they were going to take on salary of some stiff that another team wanted to dump. This is a 3 year deal at 7 million per year but the 3rd year is a team option so there's only a 2 year commitment by Portland. You're telling me that Miller wasn't worth 2 years at 7 million per year with a team option for a 3rd year also for 7 million? Come on. That's crazy. The Sixers blew this one. What's the point of paying Brand and Iggy all that money if you're not going to give them a legitimate PG to run the show?
