Joined by Phillies front office man Mike Ondo, Pedro Martinez arrived for his physical at 10:50 this morning. Also in Martinez's entourage was ace Phillies PR man Craig Hughner. The veteran righthander landed in town at 11:30 last night. It isn't clear what his next move is, but indications are that a signing could be announced tomorrow if Martinez passes.

David: Did the Phillies have some type of exclusive with Martinez? and if not, then why were no other teams interested in him?

David - I support this move because I think we need more experience in the rotation and Moyer isn't cutting it. Pedro might be a bust, but he also has huge upside for half a season. Worth a shot to say the least. One more thing - your picture on the website is hilarious. Sit on it Fonzie!

This is a no lose situation for Phils other than a couple million, which is nothing for them. If he's a bust or clubhouse cancer, they can package him in a deal maybe for Halladay after July 31 or just let him go after season. If he's for real and this maybe his last chance in the bigs, he could bring another championship to the city! He's not Halladay, but we didn't have Halladay last year, brought in Blanton and won it all.
